The Outsiders is a group about some delinquent teens which was written in the mid to late 1900's then later turned into a movie. The book itself is highly acclaimed, however the movie seemed to exceed the expectations that the book brought forth. The movie starred characters such as Tom Cruise, Rob Lower, and Matt Dillon. These actors at this time were relatively unknown but today are some of Hollywood's most well known actors. The issue with converting a book to a movie is that it has some quite a few constraints. The first being that this remediation is taking place as the medium is being transferred over from textual to visual. What many authors do is take the main ideas from this stories and add a little extra or leave a little out. Also, when re mediating many implications come into play when taking that text and making it into a move, finding actors and actresses as well as a setting can be extremely difficult. Also, while also capturing the essence of the book the visual medium has scenery that stimulates the eyes in ways the words stimulate the mind, which is very difficult to recreate.
