Twitter is a social media application which allows users to share videos and make posts. Much of twitter involves the everyday lives of celebrities. Recently, for my English class we were required to go on twitter and follow ten icons we thought were pretty cool. followed, Tyler, the Creator, Mac Miller, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Chris Brown, Kim K, Kanye West, and then obviously had to give Trump a follow (MAGA). Each of these celebrities uses their idea of rhetorical appeal to attract a large audience who awaits their every post. What all of these personalities have in common is their common identity with a brand. For example, Donald Trump launched his campaign with the phrase "Make America Great Again". Hats, T shirts, and many other clothing objects have been made and worn by people every day. Most commonly when I hear someone talk abut Trump the first thing that comes to mind is "Make America Great Again". Some other of the other celebrities do not have as great of a brand as does Trump. For example, Kim K's brand is the sex tape she made with Ray-Jae a couple years back. Besides that not really sure why she's famous, kind of an idiot. Furthermore, celebrities such as Trump use twitter to push their agenda to the general public. Trump uses aggressive tweets to show that he is not messing around. These tweets are in fact completely authentic as we see he followed up with his talk and placed a ban on immigrants travelling into the states. Trump is very appealing to many people for simple reasons. His aggressive tactics and not taking no for an answer is what many people think that our great country needs in these dire times. Secondly, his structure as how he is a billionaire entrepreneur also makes him very likable. All these celebrities have their own distinct brands which make them who they are.
