Project #1

For my very first project in ENC2135 I am choosing to write about the pop culture icon, Chance the Rapper. Chance is a rapper from Cleveland who is widely recognized as an upcoming artist who is dominating his industry. His music and style sends a message of positivity, uplifting, and independent spirit to all who listen. To help better understand this artist and what he is trying to convey to his audience I have chosen three of his works. First of all, I chose his latest mix tape the Coloring Book. This newly released mix tape combines hip hop with gospel like no other rapper has done before. Secondly, I chose a previous mix tape released a few years back called Acid Rap. I chose this mix tape because I feel at this time the rapper came to understand himself. Lastly, I chose his clothing style as my last artifact. Chance has a very unique style and is commonly featured on Gentleman's Quarters magazine for his vibrant and unique clothing choice. I have completed an in depth outline for how to present this project only need to work on a few grammar errors before it is completed. Overall, what I enjoy most about this project is the independence we have to research something that we enjoy. The biggest challenge of this project has been incorporating rhetorical analysis rather than just ranting about how much I enjoy his music.
