The link above will take you to a website called Popular Science, which used an internet based media and had recently posted an article regarding the environment in which we live titled, "2016 was the Hottest Year on Record". The mode in which he writes is trying to persuade the audience about global warming. The purpose of this article is to attract an audience that was interested in the environment and reveal to them the facts of our ever changing environment. The article clearly states that this year has been by far the hottest year in the history of record keeping. Many might question the credibility of that fact, however these facts came directly from NASA and NOAA. According to those institutes, the past three consecutive years have been the hottest on record. If that is not enough to make you still think that global warming is not thing, well you might want to think again. In the article it clearly states that areas around Alabama, Georgia, and Florida has had the hottest heatwaves on record. Logically it makes sense why this area is continually getting hotter with our atmosphere continually having the hottest years on record. Overall, I think the design of this article having modern graphs and pictures to resemble the course of action the atmosphere is taking persuades us to believe that this is and will be an issue. I think this piece could be better if it were adapted into an in person presentation by the author to a large crowd. I think this way he could much better illustrate his power point and also by using facial emotions and gestures it would help persuade the point.
